"My story with WIS began 13yrs ago (1995) in El Paso, Texas - as an Area Manager. I soon found that WIS was the perfect fit for an individual seeking development and growth opportunities. Within 11 months I moved to Denver, Colorado as a District Mgr. The Mile High city was a great place to dig in and learn how to successfully manage multi-unit, multi city operations. Four years later, I was offered a larger District in the Dallas / Ft Worth and Oklahoma markets. My team and I were able to double the size of our customer base within a few years – building strong relationships through our commitment to customer service excellence and employee development.
In 2006, I was promoted to Director of Operations for the Mid South Region – based in Nashville, Tennessee. I am working with a fantastic group of Area and District Managers, spread over 7 states. Together, we partner in delivering great service to our customers and employees. WIS has been and continues to be my Employer of Choice. If you’ve have the ambition and ability to help move our business forward, the SKY is truly the limit!"
I started out with WIS 5 years ago as a part time Inventory Associate in NJ - then transferred to Tennessee. I moved up through dedication and reliability; always being available and making my presence known by being the top producer in inventories. Within the first year I became a crew manager running small inventories, setting above standard expectations and holding my teams accountable for their actions; achieving high revenue results for the company. Within 2 years I was promoted to Inventory Manager and traveled to various offices helping to train field managers on how to improve their team’s performance. I have experienced many things with this company; there is so much diversity within and the possibilities are never ending. My resistance to failure has driven me a long way in a short time, holding myself accountable for my actions. I am now the Area Manager of the Knoxville office.
No one controls our future except us. If we make excuses and turn our cheek we will become what life allows, but if we stand up and make a difference we will become what we want to be.
If you like team work and a fast paced atmosphere, this is the job for you. Everything we do and touch in a day affects the people around us. Keeping everyone else in mind, in everything we are doing, makes this not only a challenging career but a fun one."
"If you are looking for a “ recession proof “ business look no further. I started with WIS International in Canada over 17 years ago as an entry level manager. Opportunity led me to the Eastern US and I am proud to lead the East coast team for WIS International as its Division VP. We have been building and developing a team of inventory professionals that can handle any customer’s need and have fun doing so. I am very proud of our staff and our company. Have you seen what our customers are saying?"
“I often read about the number of times people entering the work force over the next few years are expected to change their place of employment during their career. I have had the opportunity to change my career path a multiple of times without leaving WIS! I graduated from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario Canada with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree majoring in accounting. Not long after graduating I joined this great company as an Entry Level Inventory Manager. Less than 2 years into my tenure I moved on to the Area Manager Position, then on to a Director of Operations position. From operations I moved on to Ontario Accounts, then into Information Technology and finally into my current position as VP of Human Resources. If you have an interest and proven talent, we will find a way to work with you to develop that talent!
As part of operations you have the opportunity to essentially run your own business. I truly enjoyed bringing new people into the organization and assisting them as they moved on and upward in our company. We are not for everyone, we have early mornings and some weekends in our work schedule, but if you like responsibility and are interested in being challenged we have interesting opportunities for you.
We have aggressive growth plans and inherent in those plans are opportunities for those with the desire to develop leadership skills in business to join our company and grow with us!
“I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in Business Administration and subsequently served in the US Army for 4 yrs. Upon completing my military service, I was offered a position with WIS as an Inventory Manager in 2000. I was promoted 3 months later to Area manager for the San Antonio office and then moved on to manage the Fort Worth office. In 2002 I was promoted to District manager for the Delta District which encompassed Louisiana, Mississippi, and parts of Texas, Florida and Tennessee. In 2006 I was promoted to Director of Operations Support based in the Chicago Northern Division office. I am currently the Director of Operations for the Northern California Region.
This has truly been a remarkable experience for me – my story is a testament to the career advancement opportunities WIS International has to offer. I look forward to many more exciting challenges ahead in our great company.”
~Waseem Bawa Director of Operations Northern California
"After I graduated from Cal State University Fullerton, I was offered a full time Inventory Manager position with WIS. I was attracted to the opportunity because of the entrepreneurial spirit that existed in the company. It was challenging and fun to get to wear the many hats of operations, sales, customer service and human resource manager at such a young age. After I was promoted to Region Manager for a portion of LA and Hawaii, we ended up growing the Hawaii office into the largest and most profitable in the company! We truly controlled our own destiny. My next career step was to National Training Manager, then Division VP for the Southern Division. More exciting chapters to come..."
"I remember what impressed me most when I applied to work at WIS, was the fact that the Senior Leadership of the organization had all grown up through the ranks of the organization, the President included!
I knew then that I would be joining a company that would be focused on Operational Excellence and Superior Customer Service.
16 years later, I am pround to say that belief is still in practice! Our entire Senior Operational team, including Division Vice Presidents, myself, and our President & CEO all joined WIS at the Inventory Management level, and have grown and progressed our careers through the ranks at WIS.
If you are competitive, looking for a career opportunity where your contribution will be recognized, a place where Merit and Performance are truly rewarded, a career at WIS is definitely for you!!"
"I finished my bachelor's degree in Accounting and I came to the U.S. for further education in 1978. I started working part time for WIS in the San Diego office in 1979, as I was studying for my Masters degree in Business Administration. After a year, I became a Crew Manager and ran inventories for many years. I was promoted to Production Supervisor, and in 1987, I became the San Diego District Manager. In 1995, I moved from the field into the corporate office and worked as a Support Specialist in the Technology Help desk. Today, I am the manager of the Support and Quality Assurance Department. WIS has given me many opportunities over the past 29 years!"
~Abe Karegaran Manager of Help Desk and Quality Assurance
"I started out as a part-time inventory counter in the Hamilton, Ontario office 1996. I liked the variety of work so much that I approached my manager and asked about running inventories and 2 weeks later I was being trained to run them! I was promoted to Inventory Manager after my 2nd year with WIS, and went on for 3 years. This afforded me the experience of working with diverse teams and helped to develop what later became my passion…training. I was promoted to Regional Trainer. I have had many opportunities to learn and take on new challenges and my passion is still training. Today, I have the title of Training & Skill Development Specialist for Canada.
The opportunities I have had along the way are tremendous and have helped to shape and lead my career to where I am today. I can’t wait for the next chapter!"
~Stacey Ernst Training and Skill Development Specialist
"In 1989 I was a full time student at Barry University in Miami, FL and newly released from a four year Army career. That is when I started counting inventory part time at WIS. I became an Inventory Manager after just two years. One year later I was promoted to a Production Supervisor. After only ten months I was promoted to Area Manager. Next I was offered a District Manager Position where I have achieved District Manger of the year twice! Currently, I oversee the South Texas District."
"I started at WIS as an Inventory Manager in Flint, Michigan in November of 1999. After only 11 months, I was promoted to an Area Manger in Gastonia, North Carolina. 18 months later I was promoted again, this time to a District Manager position. After another 18 months I was offered a Regional VP of the Southeast Region. I am now the Regional Director of Operations."
"Five years ago I started at WIS as an Inventory Manager in Gastonia, NC after completing my schooling at Michigan State University. I was looking for a management position that would allow me to grow with a company and put all of the skills I had learned over the years into practice. This turned out to be an even more exciting and rewarding career then I had ever imagined. During the last five years I have had the opportunity and distinct pleasure of working with the best in the business as well as the most advanced technology in the industry. I went from an Inventory Manager to an Area Manager after only 11 months, then after 12 months I was promoted to a District Manger. I have seen the company grow so much and it is still very exciting to know that so many opportunities for growth are still out there. If your idea of a great career is going to an office Monday – Friday and working 9am-5pm, and then hanging it up when you go home…well keep looking. Now if you want a career that merges with your life, has unlimited challenges and rewards, that utilizes your hard work and no-quit attitude, all while working in a competitive team atmosphere, then you may just be the right person for this job!"
"I have been with WIS International for about 30 years. I obviously love the job. I started out as an Inventory Associate and worked my way through all the field positions up to Director of Operations for the Wal-Mart account. The things I like the most is that the job changes everyday, nothing stays the same, including the location. If you like working in different environments, WIS International is the company for you!"
